Pastor, personnel director, driver, roadie, bass player, song writer, singer, chief cook and bottle washer

WHAT IS THE MOST DIFFICULT BLOODGOOD SONG TO PERFORM?

Rounded Are The Rocks

WHAT IS YOUR PHILOSOPHY OF MINISTRY?

To be direct and unapologetic with the Gospel in a loving way

WHAT ACHIEVEMENTS ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF?

Being married for 26 years and having a loving family around me

WHAT BANDS OR MUSICIANS INFLUENCED YOU MOST?

The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Dio

WHAT WERE THE WORST BLOODGOOD SHOWS?

I always felt the shows themselves were all great because we always poured ourselves into them knowing God had orchestrated each one. However, some of the circumstances surrounding the shows were tough at times. Like driving 16 hours to a show and finding all the promotional posters for that evening’s concert still sitting on the promoter’s desk.

WHAT WERE THE BEST BLOODGOOD SHOWS?

We had a lot of awesome shows over the years

WHAT WERE THE WORST BLOODGOOD TOUR EXPERIENCES?

Being housed at someone’s home that thought Christian heavy metal was satanic. Having a promoter supply bologna and cheese sandwiches as our only meal. Traveling two days to do a show, and then having the promoter stiff us.

WHAT WERE THE BEST BLOODGOOD TOUR EXPERIENCES?

Just being with my family and my band mates.

WHAT WAS THE MOST DIFFICULT BLOODGOOD ALBUM TO RECORD?

"Bloodgood," the first time in the studio doing a "real" album is always the toughest. After that, you begin to feel more and more at home in the studio.

WHAT IS THE EASIEST BLOODGOOD ALBUM TO RECORD?

Rock In A Hard Place

WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT BEING IN BLOODGOOD?

Developing life-long friendships with people like Les, Joyce and Paul. Having the Lord use you to touch people’s lives.

WHAT ARE THE MOST OFTEN BLOODGOOD RELATED QUESTIONS YOU GET ASKED?

"Is that your real last name?"
"Why did you start the band?"
"Why did you break up?"
"When are you getting back together?"

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE SOMEONE INTERESTED IN GETTING INTO MUSIC MINISTRY?

Make sure the Lord is calling you into it. Just because you’re a musician and a Christian doesn’t mean God has called you into music ministry.

WHAT IS BLOODGOOD CRITICIZED THE MOST ABOUT?

Our hair, our clothes and our music

WHAT DO YOU THINK FANS LIKE THE MOST ABOUT BLOODGOOD?

Our hair, our clothes and our music. (Actually, I think our straight-ahead Christian lyrics and our music.)

WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO SAY TO CRITICS OF BLOODGOOD?

"Build a bridge and get over it!"

WHAT IS YOUR MUSICAL BACKGROUND AND TRAINING?

Self-taught, mostly, although I did minor in sacred music in Bible college.

WHAT DO YOU MISS THE MOST ABOUT THE 80'S?

The shows and the costumes. Bands today have it too easy! I miss great guitar playing.

WHAT DID YOU DISLIKE MOST ABOUT THE 80'S?

Spandex

WHAT DO YOU MISS THE MOST ABOUT THE 90'S?

Nirvana

WHAT DID YOU DISLIKE MOST ABOUT THE 90'S?

Most of the Christian music that came out was too subliminal. You couldn’t tell they were even a Christian band by looking at their lyrics. What’s the point?

WHAT DO YOU EXPECT TO BE DIFFERENT ABOUT BLOODGOOD OF PRESENT AND FUTURE COMPARED TO BLOODGOOD OF THE PAST?

We’re older and, I hope, a bit wiser. We don’t have anything to prove, so we can be in control of what we want to do and when we want to do it.

DESCRIBE THE CIRCUMSTANCES OF HOW YOU BECAME SAVED

I was dating my wife, Marilyn, when we were in high school. She was a fairly new believer. We fell in love but she realized that our relationship could never develop with me as a non-believer. So she put me on a prayer list and I started going to church with her. It wasn’t long after, that the Lord revealed Himself to me and I prayed the Sinner’s Prayer receiving Christ as my personal Lord and Saviour. It was in the middle of my senior year in high school.

WHY DID/DO YOU WANT TO BE IN BLOODGOOD?

Basically the Lord told me to put the band together

WHAT ARE THE MOST UNUSUAL THINGS ABOUT YOU?

I’m a heavy metal musician who’s greatest influence was the Beatles and not Iron Maiden. I’m a musician that can actually talk in complete sentences. I haven’t cut off my hair. I’m a pastor.

WHAT CHARACTERISTICS OF PEOPLE ARE YOU MOST ATTRACTED TO?

Genuiness, faithfulness, integrity

WHAT ARE YOUR DREAMS & GOALS?

To hear the Lord say to me, “Well done, good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21). To continue growing in my relationship with the Lord.

My salvation and my family

WHAT ARE YOU LEAST LIKELY TO DO IN LIFE?

Be a model for Abercrombie and Fitch

WHAT DO YOU DAY DREAM MOST ABOUT?

Paying all my bills on time

A man that loved God with all his heart, soul and body and who was a good husband and father.

WHAT DO YOU WISH YOU WERE BETTER AT?

Auto mechanics

Applying for a credit card

Heaven

The Second Coming of Jesus Christ

WHAT PLACES YOU WOULD MOST LIKE TO VISIT?

Normandy Beach, Australia and New Zealand, The Pyramids, Ford’s Theater, and Pearl Harbor.

WHAT IS THE WORST JOB YOU'VE EVER HAD?

When I got out of college I cut off my hair, bought a suit and went to work for the Campbell Soup Company. Chicken noodle, anyone?

IF YOU WERE RULER OF WORLD

I’d feel very sorry for the world

IF YOU COULD ASK GOD ONE QUESTION

Can I please see a Tyrannosaurs Rex?

IF YOU COULD DO SOMETHING OVER AGAIN

Be at my dad’s retirement dinner and my brother’s wedding

IF YOU COULD HAVE ANY JOB

I like the job I have now. However, I’d like to produce Paul McCartney’s next album.

There’s no time like the present
